The dresser had a thick coat of white paint which was sanded before painting. Wanted a smooth satin finish that could only be achieved by sanding.
Tick Tock was the Amy Howard One Step chalk paint color chosen. LOVE the beautiful teal color.
The dresser/changing table has been delivered. Cannot wait to receive a picture when it's placed in the new nursery....picture here does not capture the true color. Had some natural sunlight that lightened the left side as shown in picture on right above.
The photo on right shows the chalk paint prior to wax application. Clear wax is applied to bring out the true pigment in the paint and for protection.
Dark wax was used here to create a glaze and darkened finish.
The drawer pulls were also painted with two coats chalk paint in order for gilding wax to adhere.
The above photo reveals the detail of the dark wax against the dental molding before it had received any layers of wax.
